J.A.M. Fund

Frances Morrison 2009 Grant Recipient, upgraded to racing Elites this year on the road and then got her first UCI Points this cross season!

J.A.M. is a fund created by Jeremy Powers, Alec Donahue and Mukunda Feldman.  Good friends, brought together because of a passion for cycling over seven years ago.  The goal of J.A.M. is to help motivated, young cyclists reach their potential both on and off the bike while not being limited by finances.  This will be reached through close mentoring and involvement in the cycling community.  Grants will be issued to young cyclists in and around the Northeast who show the enthusiasm, interest, determination and desire to be their best.

J.A.M. is currently accepting applications for the 2012 cyclocross season through July 1, 2012. Grants will be awarded at the J.A.M. Grand FUNdo on July 14th, 2012.

What is a JAM Grant?

The goal of each grant is too give an “elite” level of support to developing riders who demonstrates commitment to the sport regardless of category. The goal being to support riders as they move through the ranks until they are able to join our supported Elite Program. While each grant can be tailored to meet an athlete’s specific needs, the JAM Grant is:

    • $500

Anthony Clark used his support to start racing on the road this season. With our help he has moved through the USCF ranks and will have a spot on the Wheelhouse/JAM Elite team in 2010.

  • Full Wheelhouse/JAM Team Kits
  • Season of Coaching
  • Rudy Project helmet and sunglasses
  • Kenda Tires and Tubes
  • Clif Bar Nutritional Products
  • Access to Equipment as needed, generously provided by fantastic companies like Mavic, SRAM, Lake, Focus and others.

Who is eligible?

  • Anyone under the age of 25 may apply for a JAM Grant.
  • There are no USCF Category requirements and you don’t even have to be a licensed racer.
  • Since we are a regional program, priority is given to athletes in our geographic area.

How it works

Jeremy Durrin came to our program from UMass cycling and JAM helped to support him as he made the transition from self supported college student to Elite racer. Today, Jeremy is a force both on the road and in cyclocross. He also now helps run our program and events.
